MIAMI (Reuters) – A south Florida mayor was sentenced to 22 months in prison on Friday after being found guilty of corruption tied to his lobbying work for a secret consulting job while in office.

Marie Lucie Tondreau, a/k/a Lucie Tondreau, 54, North Miami, Florida, the former North Miami Mayor, was sentenced by United States District Judge Robert N. Scola for her participation in a multi-million dollar mortgage fraud scheme.. Following a federal jury trial, the defendant was convicted of one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud.
